When it comes to texturing my 3D assets, it always feels like I'm never improving or just sort of staying the same. Previously I think that it didnt help I never really ventured out into creating other maps to help enhance my assets. Even though I'd been taught them I just felt like they were possibly way beyond my depth, possibly because I found my mind couldn't comprihend how certain maps did what they did such as a Normal creating more depth and dimention even with out any geomatry at all, yet the object wouldn't feel how it looked if you could touch it. However its my second year so its really something I need to do not only for projects now but for industy. so after creating my base/albido maps for my assets for the film room project I took a bit of time to download a triel version of bitmap2material at home to try and mess around with it.

I feel like its an extreamly helpful and fast way to produce extra maps, and it really helped me to understand the maps. How they should look and how they work. It made me more confident in the fact that i could produce them myself too.
